Simple Secrets for Success with Students

When I was a young adult, I received my water safety instructor certificate and immediately found a job teaching swimming. I loved teaching swimming and working with children so much that I decided to pursue my teaching degree and a career in teaching.

While teaching swimming as a young adult, I realized that there were two attributes for being a successful swimming instructor.

1.    To ensure that my students  were safe physically and emotionally

2.    To break down each swimming skill so every student experienced success.

Thirty-seven years later, I am even more aware of what I learned from teaching swimming. These two attributes are necessary for any successful teaching.

Breaking down each swimming skill so that each student could feel successful is a tough endeavor. It requires time and special consideration for the skills and limitations of each individual student. I applaud your ability in having the foresight to realize the importance of this aspect of teaching.
